The president of Colombia awards a distinction every year to 100 Colombians who are successful living abroad, including artists, athletes, designers, economists, entrepreneurs, physicians and scientists. Juan Manuel Cárdenas, co-founder of ANavS, was awarded this distinction in 2013 for his career as an aerospace engineer in the emerging Colombian space program and as a satellite navigation entrepreneur in Germany. He was invited to a ceremony hosted by president Dr. Juan Manuel Santos at his official residence. His profile was published at the Bogotá international airport and the main Colombian embassies abroad.

Jane Jean Kiam has received the VDI Preis 2013 for her excellent master thesis on “Low-cost GPS-based Compass with Reliable Ambiguity Resolution and Cycle Slip Correction”. Congratulations!
ANavS tested its PAD software at the U23 world championship in rowing at Linz, Austria.
ANavS took part in the transport logistic trade fair 2013 in Munich, which is the largest logistics trade fair in the world. ANavS participated in a booth at the European Space Agency’s ESA SAT NAV-Forum for four days and our managing directors also attended the Navigation Conference organized by the Federal Ministry of Transport, Building and Urban Development. The conference stressed the importance of new satellite navigation and telematics based technologies for the logistics industry. ANavS showed its new low-cost Position and Attitude Determination System (PAD), which provides a heading accuracy of up to 0.01°.
Federal Minister Dr. Peter Ramsauer visited ANavS booth, in which ANavS’ Position and Attitude Determination (PAD) System was shown and explained.Dr. Patrick Henkel, CEO of ANavS, presented our Position and Attitude Determination (PAD) System to Hendrik Osenberg, DLR engineer and SAT NAV-Forum organizer, Dr. Peter Ramsauer, Federal Minister of Transport, Building and Urban Development, and Frank Salzgeber, head of ESA’s Technology Transfer Programme Office.
ANavS – Advanced Navigation Solutions has performed a heading determination solely with Galileo.
The E5 code measurements showed a noise level of only 2 cm, which enabled an extremely reliable single epoch E1-E5 widelane integer ambiguity resolution with a ratio test values of 100 and more.
ESA Director General Jean-Jacques Dordain, Bavarian Minister for Economic Affairs Martin Zeil, and member of the board of space administration of the German Aerospace Center DLR Dr. Gerd Gruppe visited Anwendungszentrum GmbH Oberpfaffenhofen (AZO) to celebrate the creation of 1.000 new jobs since 2004 and to sign an agreement to extend the ESA BIC Bavaria programme.
ANavS presented its new attitude determination system to Jean-Jacques Dordain, Director General of ESA, who was on board of a car with ANavS Attitude Determination System during a test ride.
