Computer Vision / Deep Learning Engineer

You develop computer vision and deep learning approaches for processing camera and LiDAR sensor data to perform visual/ LiDAR odometry and SLAM. The computer vision based pose measurements shall support and be integrated into the ANavS sensor fusion framework for precise position and attitude determination. Alongside the focus on precise positioning, the precise mapping and the interpretation of the environment are in focus as well. You will explore and develop machine learning and state-of-the-art deep learning techniques not only for processing camera and LiDAR data, but also for performing monitoring of sensor inputs, filter states and (intermediate) outputs of the sensor fusion framework.

 

Your tasks:
  • Development of computer vision and machine learning/ deep learning approaches to perform visual/ LiDAR odometry and SLAM from camera and LiDAR data and to perform analysis and interpretation of the environment

Sensor Fusion Engineer/ Software Developer with Focus on Computer Vision

You develop sensor fusion algorithms to fuse computer vision derived measurements from camera or LiDAR sensor with multi-GNSS, IMU, wheel odometry and other sensor data to obtain a precise positioning and attitude solution. The field of applications is wide due to our low-weight hardware components and ranges from the automotive sector to robotics, UAVs, maritime industry and also surveying and snow monitoring. Your focus will be on the development and extension of sensor fusion algorithms primarily based on the extended Kalman filter (EKF) and on the software development of the sensor fusion framework. To the same degree your focus will be on the development and application of computer vision techniques to perform visual/ LiDAR odometry and SLAM including the integration of these computer vision based measurements into the sensor fusion. Alongside the focus on precise positioning, the precise mapping and the interpretation of the environment are in focus as well. Besides classical approaches to computer vision, recent deep learning techniques will be explored.
